Bringing Argiculture to Life

Coopon Carse is one of Scotland’s leading milk producers. The reason for that is simple: agriculture is our passion.

Nothing makes us happier than working together as a team, seeing our cows thrive and produce high-quality milk, and witnessing the results of our innovation and efficiency. Whether working hard through sunshine and rain or sharing a laugh over a cup of coffee, we are proud of what we do.

For more than 50 years, Coopon Carse has felt like home. It is where we come together to have a laugh, to think of innovative ideas, and to find the best solutions for bringing the future of agriculture to life.

This is where we are at home

Beyond the River Cree, between Loch Moan and the Irish Sea, the land is lush green, expansive, and exceptionally fertile. At its heart lies Coopon Carse, home to 440 dairy cows and around 380 young cattle. Few places in western Scotland can enjoy such a mild, wet climate. While demanding careful management, it is also what makes our meadows so rich and productive. To farm under these conditions, we combine traditional dairy farming with the latest technology. We rely on robotic milking systems, use GPS and ISOBUS to manage our tractors and to appliy fertiliser, and control feeding through computer-based systems. In short, we are pioneers in dairy farming motivated by our passion, United as a team and deeply rooted in the Scottish landscape.

Our story: how we have grown

1983

Out of his love for Scotland, Wijnand Pon develops a strong desire to establish a farm in this region. The landscape reminds him of his homeland, the Netherlands – flat, open, and close to the sea. Together with Jan Vos, he begins the search for a suitable farm. Eventually, their search leads them to Meikle Carse, which they purchase and rename to Coopon Carse.
